Mrs. Groothuis, Art"Every child is an artist. The problem is to remain one as he grows up." Pablo Picasso Grades 3 and 5 are in session this semester.
Third graders--prepare to travel! We will be studying artistic principles through different peoples, cultures and time periods. Look for Turkish rugs,African masks, Native American portraits and much more.
Fifth graders will be do many in-depth studies on various art movements such as fauvism, cubism, realism and more. We will look at the key artists and work with their styles to create original works. All artwork will come portfolio style in January. ART AT ZCS: DO ALL TO THE GLORY OF GOD! |
Faith StoryMrs. Groothuis, ArtOur God is a generous giver of beauty. The gifts of the mountains, flowers, wildlife, sunsets, sunrises...are simply gifts of beauty we don't need but enhance our lives to the fullest. I choose to celebrate this creative, generous God in my teaching and provide ways for children to worship Him by exploring the evidence of his existence and giving Him glory through art.
