Preschool

Our Preschool Philosophy

Education at Zeeland Christian School is Christ-centered. For that reason, our preschool program has been developed to create an environment where preschool children learn that they have a special place in God's plan.

The children are taught that God loves and cares for them and His world. In our classrooms we provide many experiences for the children in which they can express their love for God.

Our Preschool Purpose

The purpose of our preschool is to provide a stimulating and enriching experience for each child in preparation for later academic learning. Our preschool program nurtures the social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and intellectual growth of the preschool child in a secure and loving environment.

We will help your child to:

  • Become more aware of God in our world
  • Show love for God and each other
  • Achieve a good self image
  • Learn to accept and respond to others
  • Improve verbal, listening, and perceptual skills
  • Develop large and small motor skills
  • Develop attitudes that support the love of learning, problem solving, and curiosity.

For specific information about class schedules, openings, and tuition rates, contact the school office at 616-772-2609.

Zeeland Christian School System

Zeeland Christian is a school system that provides education to students from three years old through high school. The three-year-old through eighth grade program takes place here in Zeeland at 334 W. Central Ave. High school education is provided at Holland Christian for grades nine through twelve.

Zeeland Christian TRIP
$500 Credit for New Families

The Zeeland Christian School Board is continually making an effort to help families afford the cost of Christian Education. One way to reduce the cost of tuition is to participate in the Tuition Reduction Incentive Program (TRIP).

Money earned through the TRIP program can be applied to tuition payments for children when they begin kindergarten. TRIP earnings cannot be applied to preschool tuition.

Families who enroll in the TRIP program are able to build tuition credit by enrolling and participating in the proram. The sooner a family is enrolled in the program, the sooner they can begin building tuition credit. It is even possible to enroll in the program before your child is of school age.

To encourage participation in the TRIP program, Zeeland Christian is offering one $500 credit for new families through their TRIP account. The credit is applied when the oldest child enters first grade. To be eligible, families must take the following steps:

  • Attend a TRIP information meeting.
  • Enroll in the TRIP program while your child is in preschool (or before).
  • Participate in the TRIP program by purchasing certificates to use at area businesses.
  • Once your child has completed preschool and kindergarten at Zeeland Christian, your $500 credit will be applied to their first grade tuition.
  • Be aware that while you may sign up for the TRIP program at any time, you must enroll by January of your child's preschool year to be eligible for the $500.
  • An exception is made for families whose children do not attend preschool but enter school when they go to kindergarten. These families will still be eligible for the $500 if they enroll and participate while their child is in kindergarten.

For more information, contact the Zeeland Christian TRIP coordinator, Deb Vanden Heuvel, at 772-2447 or the school office at 772-2609.

Threeschool

Threeschool provides the three-year-old child an opportunity to interact with other children and a teacher in a school setting. Children will be involved in painting, story acting, puzzles, finger plays, singing, games and many other activities designed to foster listening, verbal and perceptual skills.

Children must be age three by September 1 to enroll in threeschool. It is required that your threeschooler be toilet trained.

Classes are one-day or two-day sessions that meet from 9:30-11:30am or from 1:00-3:00pm. Classes are limited to 15 students.

Preschool

Parents may choose between a two-day preschool experience and a three-day preschool experience. The two-day and three-day preschool follow the same curriculum and field trip schedule. Our preschool program builds upon the Threeschool program. Children will be introduced to letters and letter sounds, numerals and other readiness skills.

To enroll in preschool, children must be age four by September 1 or planning to attend kindergarten the following year.

Classes are two-day or three-day sessions that meet from 9:15-11:45am or from 12:45-3:15pm. Classes are limited to 20 students.

Young Fives

The Young Fives program is designed to meet the needs of older preschool students before beginning their kindergarten experience. Although part of the preschool program, the young fives program has its own curriculum goals, themes, and field trip experiences. The program's learning and kindergarten readiness goals will challenge its young learners at a higher developmental level than our current preschool and complement but not duplicate either preschool or kindergarten.

Children must be age five by December 31 to enroll in young fives.

Classes are four-day sessions that meet from 8:45-11:30am or from 12:45-3:30pm. Classes are limited to 20 students.

Faith Story

Miss Rozema, Preschool

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it'  Proverbs 22:6.  My goal as a Christian school teacher is to train children to be disciples of Christ.
