Registration Procedure for Zeeland Christian Kindergarten and Preschool

Kindergarten

We recommend that children be 5 by September 1, 2012 to enroll in kindergarten. For the 2012-13 school year we will be offering the following options:

• all day/every day kindergarten
• all day/alternate day kindergarten (2½ days per week)
• half day/every day kindergarten (every morning 8:40-11:50)
• Spanish immersion (every morning 8:40-11:50 or every afternoon 12:30-3:35)
• Mandarin immersion (every morning 8:40-11:50)

Students currently attending immersion preschool will be given an early opportunity to enroll in immersion kindergarten and remaining spaces will be filled on a first-come first-served basis. Early registration opens at 7p on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012 at http://zcskindergartenregistration.eventbrite.com/.  Open registration begins on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at 7 p.m.

A minimum of 15 students is required to hold any class option. There is no transportation in the middle of the day, so the half day classes will only have transportation to school for the morning class or from school for the afternoon class.

Preschool:

• To enroll in threeschool, children must be 3 by September 1, 2012 and toilet trained.
• To enroll in preschool, children must be 4 by September 1, 2012 or planning to attend kindergarten the following year.
• To enroll in young fives children must be 5 by December 31, 2012. Children in young fives may be eligible for bussing either to school for the morning class or home from school for the afternoon class. To be eligible, they must live in the Zeeland Public Schools district and be 5 by December 1, 2012.
• A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required with registration. Cash and checks are accepted. We are unable to process credit cards and debit cards.
• Classes will be filled on a first-come first-served basis. Once classes are filled, we will begin waiting lists.
• Parents are asked to only register their own children. If a parent is unable to attend, they may send a family member or friend as long as that person isn’t registering their own child.

Options:

• One-day threeschool - Wednesday 9:30-11:30 a.m. or 1:00-3:00 p.m., $175/semester
• Two-day threeschool - Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday 9:30-11:30 a.m. or 1:00-3:00 p.m. (ZCS), Tuesday/Friday 9:30-11:30 a.m. (Drenthe), Tuesday/Friday 9:30-11:30 a.m. or 1:00-3:00 p.m. (Spanish immersion), $350/semester
• Two-day preschool - Monday/Thursday 9:15-11:45 a.m. (Drenthe), Tuesday/Friday 9:14-11:45 a.m. or 12:45-3:15 p.m. (ZCS), $375/semester
• Three-day preschool - Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 9:15-11:45 a.m. or 12:45-3:15 p.m. (ZCS), Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 9:15-11:45 a.m. or 12:45-3:15 p.m. (Spanish immersion), $490/semester
• Young fives - Monday-Thursday 8:50-11:30 a.m. or 12:45-3:30 p.m., $640/semester
