What do you love about Zeeland Christian?

I feel the Holy Spirit's presence in the halls, see Him working through the relationships amongst staff and students, and feel His guidance when teaching.

Why are you passionate about Christian Education?

Since my faith is the most important part of who I am, I am grateful that I can be authentic and open with my students and colleagues about a life with Jesus. By sharing God's Word and loving my students well, I hope I can point them daily to the cross, so they may also choose to be a disciple of Christ.

What do you want others to know about you?

I am a wife to Jeff, and a mom to three amazing adopted kids (Manny, Joelle, and Dante). At age 15, I accepted Jesus as my Savior; however, after some personal struggles, I also accepted him as the Lord of my life at age 18. Over the years, I have learned to trust Him more and more. I am grateful for all of the joys, but especially for all of the difficult moments, which have helped me to give up control and rely completely on the Lord in all circumstances. I love being active by jogging, biking, hiking, and going to the beach. I am passionate about supporting adoption and foster care. I love to laugh and learn. I love traveling, my puppy, Mowgli, adventure, listening to books, and teaching.

One life lesson your students have taught you:

I have learned relationship and laughter.  Every year I am surprised at the level of understanding I get with my students. I thrive and take great joy from being in a relationship with and laughing with my students.  Life is never dull as a teacher, because of the unique children I have the privilege to know.
