What do you love about Zeeland Christian?

At Zeeland Christian, I love how each child is seen as an individual with infinite potential. It is encouraging to work with a staff who is willing to think outside the box in order to meet the children where they are at and to provide what they believe will be the best possible education. The willingness and flexibility of the school system to shift course when necessary and to try new approaches to education is motivating and affirming.

Why are you passionate about Christian Education?

Christian education embraces my belief that each child is uniquely created by God to fulfill his or her purpose in this world; each child is fully loved by God. While there is excellent education happening in all the school buildings in the area, the opportunity to seamlessly integrate a Christian worldview into all areas of education provides the most comprehensive learning environment. I love that the students and staff can learn to think freely in a place that encourages questions, exploration, and growth in both academics and faith.

What do you want others to know about you?

My husband, Chad Pierce, and I have four children that span from elementary to college age. We are members at Faith CRC where he serves as the pastor. Prior to moving to Zeeland, we lived in Pella, Iowa where he was the New Testament Professor at Central College, and I served as the Immersion Director at Pella Christian Grade School. Years ago, we began our lives together by moving to Jerusalem, Israel/Palestine where he completed a graduate degree, and I taught 2nd grade in an English immersion school which had a primarily Palestinian, Muslim student body. In addition to traveling with my husband and with (or without) our children, I enjoy hiking, Crossfit, adventure racing, and pretty much anything that includes a physical challenge.
