What do you love about working at Zeeland Christian?
I love the flexibility to be creative in my teaching which also allows flexibility to get to know my students as individual learners and address their needs. I also love that I can teach in Spanish and English. 🙂
Why are you passionate about Christian Education?
I love the fact that I am free to teach Jesus to students. Exploring what it means to be a Christian and the difference between only being religious and having a real relationship with God is an incredible journey to be a part of. I am passionate about teaching God's focus in the Bible of loving Him with all of our hearts and love our neighbors as ourselves.
Tell us a little bit more about yourself.
I was born in the Dominican Republic. Got my first job as a teacher's assistant at age 17 right after high school (which is common in my country) and fell in love with it. Moved to the states at age 23 to pursue a Masters's degree in Learning Disabilities at Calvin College. I started working at ZCS in 2008 and married my husband Ben in 2017. We are expecting our first baby in March.
