Being Shaped for God’s Purpose

Middle School is an exciting journey where students learn valuable lessons in a supportive environment while making unforgettable memories! As Makenna Hoekstra, one of our fantastic 6th-grade teachers, says, "It's all about meeting kids where they are at and encouraging them to live into how God created them."

There's nothing sweeter than hearing our students joyfully sing worship songs around a campfire, their faces glowing joyfully. These early weeks are packed with special moments that foster community and confidence through laughter and smiles. We prioritize building friendships and getting to know one another, making learning even more enriching!

Our faith formation themes—Community in sixth, Identity in seventh, and Leadership in eighth—shine through in our activities. For our 6th and 7th graders, overnight camp trips to Camp Geneva and Camp Roger are filled with fun games like “Nagel’s Noodles” and Gold Rush!  Our outstanding teachers share their faith and inspiration, guiding students through growth goals for the year ahead and authentic testimonies of God at work through complex and beautiful moments of life. Meanwhile, our 8th graders invest a Friday on a Leadership Retreat at the 3-Mile Project, focusing on collaboration, goal-setting, and, of course, having fun with their teachers and friends!

Middle school is such a special time, and we encourage every student to stretch their comfort zone, explore new interests, and engage in extracurricular activities. Growth happens in many ways, and together, we're all being shaped for amazing purposes, God's purposes!
