Make An Impact Together

ZCS Families and Community,

From the very first day of school, moments occur in which students begin, or continue, to connect their lives with God’s calling. Jackie Roskamp, 8th-grade teacher, set the tone for the new school year, by speaking directly to each child’s eternal significance. We recently shared this quote from Mrs. Roskamp on our social media, but it’s so encouraging I have to share it again.

“You aren’t just an 8th grader I need to get through with for a year. I see you as a kingdom builder and someone I get to spend eternity with. We get to make an impact together in a special way this year leading toward our much bigger picture. I took my 2-D goggles off on life a long time ago and see it as 3-D with eternity. You are important to me.”

Jackie challenges students to look beyond the ordinary school experience with their eyes fixed on eternity and encourages students and teachers to see every class lesson as an opportunity to make an impact together.

The sentiment is the same for you and me. By simply replacing “an 8th grader” with “a brother or sister in Christ,” we can reread Jackie’s words with each other in mind as we picture our school community.

You aren’t just a brother or sister in Christ (who) I need to get through with for a year. I see you as a kingdom builder and someone I get to spend eternity with. We get to make an impact together in a special way this year leading toward our much bigger picture. You are important to me.

Through intentional words like these, prayer, and rallying together as a school community, children at ZCS have been prepared to engage with God’s word and impact his world. And we get to make an impact together in a special way this year, leading toward a much bigger picture. That’s where the Legacy Event comes in.

The Legacy Event celebrates our school’s work, rooted in faith since 1915. It is a time to come together as a community to renew our commitment to the mission of ZCS: to provide a Christian education to young image-bearers of God as they discover his calling on their lives and support those doing this work today.

This year’s event will be on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the Haworth Hotel, and we would love to have you join us! You can register starting today using this link or the button below. Sponsorships for the event are available here. First-time guests can receive 50% of their ticket using code HalfPrice.
