ZCS Families,
What a joy it has been to welcome elementary kids and families back to ZCS! There is nothing quite like seeing our hallways, classrooms, playgrounds, and gathering spaces come alive again. After months of planning and preparation, the school is once again filled with the people who make ZCS, ZCS.
As I have walked throughout the building and outdoor spaces in these first days, I have been struck by the many ways our community is Faithfully All-In for kids.
I’ve seen teachers going above and beyond to make sure a new child feels known and welcomed. Part-time teaching partners choosing to spend the first day together so their kids could begin the year with consistency and community. Preschool teachers showing up on the first day of elementary school simply to cheer on their former students as they took the big step into kindergarten. Staff members jumping in wherever needed, families encouraging one another, and teachers investing countless hours to create classrooms where kids know, from the moment they walk through the door, “You belong here. We’re glad you’re here. You matter.”
Over 1,000 people launched the year together at RAMS Fest, 40 parents joined me for a first-day-of-school prayer, and over 200 guests worshipped with us at our first chapel.
And we are already seeing the impact. Kids are walking into school with growing confidence. New friendships are forming. Teachers are learning what makes each child light up. Older kids are helping younger kids find their way. Families are reconnecting. Classrooms are becoming communities. None of these moments happen by accident. They are the result of people choosing, again and again, to show up for kids and for one another.
This is what Faithfully All-In looks like. It is not simply working hard. It is bringing what God has given us and using it faithfully in service of His children and His kingdom.
Thank you for the many ways you are part of it. What a gift to begin another year together!
Burn Bright,
Betsy Koop
Head of School
P.S. Families of preschoolers, we can’t wait to welcome your children next week! You’re invited to a first day of preschool prayer time from 9:00-9:15 am on your child’s first day (Tuesday and/or Wednesday) at both the Central Ave and Creation Ridge campus.
