Tuition Assistance

It is our deepest desire that all families who want to attend Zeeland Christian School are able to afford it.

God has done amazing things to make ZCS an option for many families who struggle to afford the tuition.

Sometimes a combination of extended family support and church support can help. Other times, our school can help. Zeeland Christian School offers a need-based tuition grant program that is administered by FACTS Management, Inc. Awards are made based upon funds available. You can apply online at There is a $30 fee to apply for assistance.

At ZCS the goal is for a family not to pay more than 15% of their income in tuition for their children to attend school each year. Over the last few years, our families and donors have worked hard to be able to offer 80% - 100% of the assistance for which families qualify. The average family with two or more children, who also meet income requirements and apply, qualifies for $4300 in tuition assistance.

Tuition assistance is offered for families with children in Kindergarten thru 8th grade. If a family also has a preschooler, that tuition number is also taken into account when awarding assistance.  At this time we do not offer normal tuition assistance for families who only have children enrolled in preschool, however, we do offer assistance relating to a hardship - such as loss of income due to COVID.  These cases receive assistance from the emergency tuition assistance fund vs. the normal tuition assistance fund and are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Tuition Assistance Formula

If you are interested in seeing if your family might qualify for tuition assistance please use the following formula. Please contact Nakisha DeJong to discuss your situation and get the link to apply for assistance.

The qualifying formula for tuition assistance is:

Step 1: Determine your family's Adjusted Gross Income

Step 2: Calculate: 15% x Adjusted Gross Income = B

Step 3: Identify your family's tuition for the upcoming year

Step 4: Calculate: your family's total tuition - B = T.A. amount your family qualifies for

Step 5: Total tuition - T.A. amount from step four = amount family should expect to contribute

Over the last few years, our families and donors have worked hard to be able to offer 80% - 100% of the assistance for which families qualify. The average family with two or more children, who also meet income requirements and apply, qualifies for $4300 in tuition assistance.

Still not enough assistance? Help doesn't stop there! The THRIVE Scholarship fund helps those who need assistance beyond the 50% that tuition assistance can cover.

If you are in a situation where no amount of personal sacrifice would make even 50% of tuition possible - there is still a way to send your children to ZCS. The THRIVE fund is specifically designed for families from underrepresented groups (people of color, minority cultures, and low socioeconomic status) with needs above and beyond 50% off of tuition. Please contact Nakisha at for more information.

Zeeland Christian also participates in the Tuition Reduction Incentive Program (T.R.I.P.)

TRIP (Tuition Reduction Incentive Plan)

Zeeland Christian School has been blessed with a wonderful program called TRIP. TRIP stands for Tuition Reduction Incentive Plan. The TRIP program allows Zeeland Christian School supporters to buy gift cards and certificates for services in this community. The cards and certificates are purchased at a reduced price by the TRIP program. The difference between the face value paid by participants and the reduced price is then applied to your tuition account. Many families in Zeeland Christian save hundreds of dollars a year using this plan. There are some families that enlist the support of the extended family and have saved over $1,000 a year in tuition costs. If you'd like more information on this program, call the office. Information meetings are held on a regular basis. You must attend a meeting and register to participate.

TRIP orders must be received by 11:00 on Tuesday and are available for pick up the following Tuesday between 10:30 and 1:00. T.R.I.P. certificates for selected merchants are also available from the office on Fridays from 11:00 to 1:00 on school days. These are available on a first-come/first served basis and do not need to be pre-ordered.

$500 Credit for New Families!

Families who enroll in the TRIP program are able to build tuition credit by enrolling and participating in the program. The sooner a family is enrolled in the program, the sooner they can begin building tuition credit. It is even possible to enroll in the program before your child is of school age.

To encourage participation in the TRIP program, Zeeland Christian is offering one $500 credit for new families through their TRIP account. The credit is applied when the oldest child enters first grade. To be eligible, families must take the following steps:

• Enroll in the TRIP program while your child is in preschool (or before).
• Participate in the TRIP program by purchasing certificates to use at area businesses.
• Once your child has completed preschool and kindergarten at Zeeland Christian, your $500 credit will be applied to their first-grade tuition.
• Be aware that while you may sign up for the TRIP program at any time, you must enroll by January of your child's preschool year to be eligible for the $500.
• An exception is made for families whose children do not attend preschool but enter school when they go to kindergarten. These families will still be eligible for the $500 if they enroll and participate while their child is in kindergarten.
